What is
Cold In-Place Recycling? (CIR / CIREAM)
Cold In-Place Recycling is a low-cost
alternative to traditional “Mill and
Fill”, Overlay and full road reconstruction.
CIR / CIREAM adds years of service
life to a road in a very cost-effective
and timely manner. It can be used
to eliminate reflective cracking,
pavement fatigue, poor ride quality,
longitudinal cracking and more. |

How does the Process Work?
A road is milled to a depth of 50mm to 150mm.
The material is crushed and sized. An additive
such as emulsion (in the case of CIR) or
foamed asphalt (in the case of CIREAM) is
added and mixed with the material according
to a designed specification. The rejuvenated
material is placed and compacted. A thin
layer of hot mix asphalt is then placed
on the cured, recycled mat.
